Pachinko -- Japan's most popular game -- has come to iPhone and iPod Touch! With its anime-style characters, vivid lights and animation, and authentic gameplay, Sho Chiku Bai is the closest thing to being in a pachinko parlor itself. And if you've never played pachinko before, Sho Chiku Bai's detailed instructions give the perfect introduction.

Sho Chiku Bai also features an original J-Pop single composed by Norihiko Hibino (Gem Impact, Inc.), famed composer from the Metal Gear Solid series! Both the single and the game are available for download via iTunes and the App Store. Mission One and GEM Impact have also collaborated to create the following promotional music video:

  • Story and Characters
As the first flowers of spring bloom, the nightingale's song can be heard all across Japan. However, this year the air is silent, and O-Ume-chan and her two cats are on a quest to find out why.

    O-Ume-chan (pronounced oh-oomay-chan)
A young girl from Kyoto who loves to sing and dance. Her admiration for her mother drew her to wear traditional Japanese kimono. Her bright smile and warm personality make her very popular, especially with her two cats.

    Matsu (pronounced mah-tsu)
A cat who travels with O-Ume-chan. He's always picking on his airheaded brother Take as they both vie for O-Ume-chan's attention.

    Take (pronounced tah-kay)
A cat who loves O-Ume-chan more than anything in the world. He's pretty clumsy, but that doesn't stop him from trying anything and everything to win O-Ume-chan's affection.

    Director's Notes
Our goal in creating Sho Chiku Bai was to bring an authentic pachinko experience to the iPhone/iPod Touch platform, and also to bring this experience to the entire world. If you have an interest in Japanese culture, you've probably wondered what the whole pachinko thing is all about. Sho Chiku Bai is your chance to find out; without the costly trip to Japan, smoky pachinko halls, and the risk of losing money.

In order to preserve the unique Japanese feel of pachinko, the game's animations and voices are presented in the original Japanese.
